Movie Night

One of Sara Grace and Lawson's favorite things to do is movie night. They eat dinner, take a bath, get their pj's on, and start their movie. And if you know Nona, you know that we have no shortages of movies. She gave us all of her son's movies (it took three moving boxes to get them to IN!) My favorite part about movie night is how they love sitting together. So sweet.

I can't believe she is 5!

Sara (princess) Grace (God's grace/kindness)

Name well suited. She is a child of God and therefore a princess and God showed his kindness to Bronson and I when he gave us Sara Grace. We are so grateful.

I remember right before I delivered Sara Grace, Dr. Samuel told me to be prepared that Sara Grace wouldn't make a sound for the first bit. However, as they were pulling her out, Bronson and I both heard her make a little squeak. We were overcome with absolute relief and joy at the same time. I can't express how thankful I am for Sara Grace. She has given us so much joy and I can't believe she is five.

I pulled some pictures from her first year.

We look back and can't believe what a chunker she was. Oh, we were so proud, but look at those thighs! (10 weeks)

Here she is at 4 months (22lbs). We were so proud!

5 months!

Baby Doll Birthday Party

It was a Happy Birthday party for Sara Grace's 5th birthday! We had so much fun. Although Sara Grace doesn't turn 5 until March 22, we celebrated her birthday early since my parents were in town for a visit. 7 of her little friends came with their dolls and strollers. We made party crowns for the dolls, took the dolls for a walk, played "Pin the Bow on the Baby Doll," and of course had ice cream and cake. All the girls were so sweet. Here are some photos.

Since we were taking our babies for a walk, Moremommy made my cake in the shape of a stroller.

Sara Grace loved playing pin the bow on the baby.
The girls were so cute walking their dolls.

We made party crowns for our babies to wear. We went around the room and introduced our babies.

Sara Grace received lots of wonderful presents.

Yummy food.

Who likes cake?

And it was very special that Moremommy and Moredaddy came for the party.

Here is a video of the girls walking their dollies.

So Fancy!

Sara Grace and Lawson love dressing up. Some of the latest outfits have cracked me up. Take a look.

Here Lawson is taking his kitty for a walk.

And this one has nothing to do with dressing up, but I posted it because I love Lawson's sweet smile.

Hide and Go Seek!

Everything Lawson does is full of energy. He says a whole lot, but it is quite hard to understand what he says. After watching him eat lunch at Arby's one day, a lady came up to me and said, "After all of that turns into English, you are going to have an ear full." Here he is counting with much enthusiasm to ten while playing a game of hide and go seek.

It's been 6 years

The same sun that melts wax hardens clay. "Lord, let me not be hardened but softened." Six years ago, I prayed that prayer over and over again and God was faithful. And today, April 15, we celebrated Grace Elizabeth. Usually we go to the graveside and release balloons, but this year it had to be different since we were in Indiana. I knew this aspect would be a challenge for me, but I am so grateful that there is life beyond the grave. Over these past years I have had so many questions regarding prayer. However I heard a sermon recently that meant so much to me. I have struggled with God's answers to three of my prayers:
1. First I prayed, "God bring the baby safely into this world." 2. After delivery, when I was still awake and knew my world was crashing in on me, I prayed, "Help her God, keep her safe." 3. Then later in my room, my Dad was holding Grace Elizabeth and I prayed, "Lord, raise her from the dead. You did it in the New Testament, I know you can do it now." I took those No's from God as stones (Matthew 7:9..."Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?). However, this year I have realized that His no was bread because I was in His will. I am realizing that I trust in God so much that I am willing and want to be in His will even when it means that His answer is no to something I want so desperately. It is my prayer that I learn to trust in who God is and not what He does. Questions come and go but even when Job questioned God, God did not give Job an answer other than the fact that God is God.
So, yes, it has been six years and not one day has gone by that I have not thought about and miss Grace Elizabeth (and I hope that day will never come). I am thankful for her- what a gift. Now she is in heaven in the presence of God our Father-Amazing! Heaven has become more real to me since a piece of me is already there. Dr. Dobson said, "As a parent you ask God for wisdom on how to introduce your child to Jesus, but when a child goes to heaven before you, it's your child that will introduce you to Jesus."

Here are some photos of the 6 balloons we released at Taylor lake.

I still believe in your holiness, I still believe in your faithfulness, I still believe in your truth, even when I don't see, I still believe.

Surrounded by Your glory, what will my heart feel
Will I dance for you Jesus or in awe of you be still
Will I stand in your presence or to my knees will I fall
Will I sing hallelujah, will I be able to speak at all
I can only imagine

The Lord has promised good to me...
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be...
as long as life endures.
